PKK rocket attack kills Turkish policeman

ANKARA, Turkey -- Members of the terrorist Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) fired rockets at a police station in the eastern province of Mus, killing one policeman late Wednesday (August 6th). Three other officers suffered injuries from the attack in the centre of the town of Malazgirt.

In a separate incident, an explosion rocked a freight train in the neighbouring province of Bitlis late Wednesday, derailing three cars. No injuries were reported. (Hurriyet, Milliyet - 07/08/08; Anadolu news agency, NTV, CNN Turk - 06/08/08)
