Newly emerged group claims responsibility for bombings in Greece

ATHENS, Greece -- A newly emerged terrorist group claimed responsibility for three bombings in Greece between 2004 and 2008, media reported on Thursday (July 31st). The organisation, which calls itself Popular Will, sent a statement to the daily Eleftherotypia on Wednesday. The group said it was responsible for bombing a courthouse in the central town of Larissa in 2004, slightly injuring a bystander. Popular Will also claimed responsibility for two attempted bombings in Athens -- against the offices of the German pharmaceutical Bayer in June 2007 and against the Economic and Social Committee of Greece this past Tuesday.
