ANKARA, Turkey -- Former Prime Minister Abdullatif Sener, a founding member of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP), left the party on Friday (July 11th). Sener told reporters after a session of the AKP's Central Executive Board that he is splitting with the party. Sener earlier announced his intention to form a new party with former AKP member Ertugrul Yalcinbayir. Political observers forecast that Sener's new party may attract some AKP voters.
