Greece's Papandreou re-elected president of Socialist International

ATHENS, Greece -- George Papandreou, leader of the main opposition party PASOK, won re-election on Monday (June 30th) to the presidency of the Socialist International at the organisation's 23rd congress in Athens. Papandreou, son of late Greek Prime Minister Andreas Papandreou, headed the international socialist organisation in 2006. Radmila Sekerinska, leader of Macedonia's main opposition party, the Social Democratic Alliance of Macedonia, won election to the deputy presidency. (ANA-MPA, Kathimerini, Naftemporiki, - 01/07/08)
