Greece's Karamanlis seeks public support for reforms ahead of elections

ATHENS, Greece -- The September 16th snap elections will determine whether the country moves forward or backwards, Prime Minister Costas Karamanlis said on Thursday (August 23rd). Karamanlis, who leads the ruling New Democracy (ND) party, asked voters to show their support for ongoing reforms. During a meeting of ND's central committee on Thursday, he unveiled a package of 11 measures aimed at resolving social security issues in the country.
