ANKARA, Turkey -- The army announced on Saturday (May 3rd) that more than 150 Kurdish militants were killed during an air attacks in northern Iraq. The General Staff announced that the operation, which took place on Thursday and Friday near Qandil Mountain, targeted terrorist Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) bases. But PKK spokesperson Ahmed Danees said on Saturday only six people were killed in the operation, and that all of them were from a different Kurdish faction. (AP, RIA Novosti, BBC - 03/05/08)
